There are scores of ways, avenues, lanes,
approaches, strategies and methods to understand and show reverence to a person
starting from a layman to a man of illustrious and vibrant profile. It’s really
a very complex and perplexing drive without a doubt when one decides to do so from
his/her own standing. The natter is more challenging if the focus involves a
person who is closely related to the focuser otherwise or who falls within the
fold of his/her own blood say, father, mother, sister or brother in particular.
Even if such focus is made going above sheer emotions, fascinations, weakness
touching pointedly the overall illuminations and reflections, unfolded or
being unfolded, nevertheless the focus,
,under all the circumstances, may have every possibility of being partisan,
negligible or not. This ‘partisanship’ can hardly be set aside and this may
rightly be called ‘impossibility of neutrality in full’. And that’s why whether
we agree or not, it’s a Hobson’s choice for us all irrespective of age,
education, knowledge, experience and understanding. Being fully aware of and
responsive to all these, what is wrong if I make an audacious shot to understand
my living youngest brother Dr. Sinha Abul Monsur, a US-based physician, who has
over the last few years has reached at a point which is, if the truth be told,
encouraging for those who think, feel and realize about life, society, mature
and creator of universe(s) both from micro and macro perspectives.
Professionally Sinha Abul Monsur is a widely
acclaimed professor and specialist in Anestheology at the State University of
New York. For his outstanding excellence in the respective field he has
meanwhile been placed three times consecutively from 2011 to 2013 in the list
of ‘Leading Physicians of the world’. His name was included in ‘Cambridge who’s
who’ in 2011. For the book ‘Essential Topics and Cases for Anesthesia Oral
Boards’ he has been recognized duly by
the relevant academics and institutes in USA in meticulous. Crossing the
boundary of professional kingdom, he entered manifestly the domain of
literature when he was a student at Dhaka College in the early eighty and by
this time wrote, apart from onward contributions to the relevant fields, a
number of books including the recently one titled ‘Dip O Janapader Golpa (story
of Islands and inhabitant) based on his tour to Hawaii Islands in USA
He is now in Bangladesh for the purpose of
the publication of his book ‘Dip O Janapader Golpa’. In course of talks I with
an inquisitive bent of mind asked him ‘why are you passing times behind
literature?’ ‘Just to quench my thirst for understanding and knowing life,
people, society’, nature, Creator of Universe(s) and come what may not!’
sounded he very politely and confidently. ‘Well, you are a physician and you
should write more on concerned areas since all these shall take you to a point of
great success and achievement’ asserted I. ‘Majo Vaijan (because I am the living
second son of our parents), you are mistaken indeed as you find the success and
travel of life merely within the sphere of one’s professional world. Mind it very
profoundly that-----life is a comedy to those who think it so, a tragedy to
those fell it so but meaningfully a reality to those who realize it so from the
very bosom of heart and head. I stick to
the belief that to broaden and enlighten one’s vision and mission there remains
no better option but to get involved in the world of literature comprising
prose, poetry and prose-poetry at large. Form/forms of writing is/are up to the
person who decides to do so. One may find interest in prose and other may like
to find his/her place in poetry while few may choose the way of prose-poetry
and all these together bring us into the world of literature as a whole. Yes,
you like to take resort to prose and prose-poetry. That’s your style. In a
broad sense, contents of literature embrace all branches of knowledge entailing
social science, arts, science and technology while in a narrow sense it implies
less.
A doctor is a social being and he cannot be
away from his surroundings. Therefore, his/her way of expressions about things
around him/her may also be re-active and pro-active depending on time, space
and dimension. I feel strong urges to write on travelling in particular since I
like to travel whenever I find time. To me world sometimes appears to be a cup
of bitterness and at times it’s is an abode of peace and tranquility. There we
also meet with a moment or time where a blend of the two diametrically opposed
standing is a reality. It is wiser and better to view all these as a kind of
concerts tuned in line with the great design of the Creator of universe(s),
Allah, and mankind being the best of His creations should aim at fulfilling the
very purposes of Allah following the verdicts of religions, scriptures adding
further noble thoughts and inspirations of those who contributed in the past, who have been
contributing in the present and who will
add their names in future to put such
design on rails’ responded he quickly
without a pause.
Listening to all these I became weighed down
in full and from my heart came out instinctively the verses in prose-poetry
fashion as follows:
Let me sound honestly, honestly
In the vein and spirit of my reverend,
beloved forefathers
Brothers and sisters, past and present
And mother passed away not in the very
distant past
That, that Dr. Sinha Abul Monsur, my youngest
brother
A physician by profession but a travel-seeker,
writer by nature
How superbly remains irresistible on question
of
Sensation, quest and love for mankind and
nature;
Living nowadays in USA having a locale of
teaching
At the state university of New York
Getting and storing name and fame from all
most all the corners of earth
He is as well possessed strongly of the
rarest quality and integrity
Starting from micro to micro standing
For which, for which a man of vision and
mission cares most.
Behold, behold
Not single in the field he is since
Since he has been being showered with, clad
with
Blessing(s) of Allah, Creator of universe(s)
Visible or invisible
Not, not for a moment or for a while
But for all the time, present and future.
O Dr. Sinha Abul Monsur
Never get worn-out, downhearted and perturbed
While your journey to reach at the pinnacle
is destined for;
Stay with and stand by your beloved
motherland Bangladesh
Wherever you are
Feel free to have a sense of repose
Sighing a sigh of relief that
You are a Bangladeshi not merely from the
very mouth
Rather profoundly from the very bosom of mind
and heart.
O Dr. Sinha Abul Monsur
Never be indifferent to the mistakes, errors
and follies
Weakness and inability reseeding in human
being inherently
Making sure and certain that
Set of gaps exist between ‘I can do it’ and
‘I cannot but do it’
As wise people keep on saying
Remains former within one’s resolve hoisting
the flag of one’s will whilst
Latter makes one docile desolately placing
under other’s will.
Let me sound bluntly, bluntly
Please you all (readers and listeners) be
sure
Be sure to the best of your conformity that
Not belligerently highlighting I my bother
Dr. Sinha Abul Monsur instead
Instead focus has been made on the person who
deserves
All these for his Himalayan move to
Conquer the Everest to transfer the benefits
for the cause of
Mankind and civilization.
To me it was indeed a moment of divine
pleasure. Even so, I am haunted by a pertinent asking that to what extent I have
I been able to get rid of innate weakness and limitations while speaking of a
closet one in the vein of my own brother Dr. Sinha Abul Monsur? Well, that’s up
to the readers to judge. But I feel that
a paradigm of such sort may be a taster while dealing with such state of
relations no matter whether it takes place in Asia or in Africa or in Europe or
in America (North and South) or in Antarctica.
